A great week with a little oops in it

Well a lot of stuff happened this week that I was not expecting, we did have our two baptisms though !!!! That was super fun, they were oh so spiritual. The guy that was a drunk finally kicked it and he got up and bore his testimony,  I think it was one of the strongest testimony's that I have ever heard it was crazy. I guess if your willing to stick with it for 5 years, you grow a pretty strong testimony. It sounds like you guys are having a ball over there, I miss all the everyday things some times. I was looking last night before bed and I have been out here for 204 ish days, 3 more transfers till I have been out a year mom!!!  It's flying by, but dragging at the same time. I feel like I am never coming home, it feels so far away but at the same time I can't believe that I have been out this long already. It feels like this is my new job, and that it's just a permanent thing.
Well some other unexpected things were, I hit a squirrel on my bike! That was cool, and of cores I cut its tail off and have it tanning in our apartment. I am having such a great time here in Connersville, the ward of 50 is awesome. I get feed every night, and a member even goes shopping for us. That family we hang out with a lot makes it easier to, she reminds me of Kasey but here husband reminds me of Justin. Her son and daughters are the best, they all clam me as brother, and son at that house. Another crazy thing is I got some fire crackers! Back home Joey and I threw them in his toilet, and it didn't do anything. I threw one in our toilet and.... I will let the picture explain, let just say I have a really nice apartment manager!!! ha ha other than that, doing pretty awesome.
 I love you!

Plus the other guy that fell of the wagon, is now going to get baptized on the 27th, So its going to be a busy weekend!!! ha ha Well it looks like you guys had a blast at family reunion, I am sad that I missed out but I know that there will be plenty more, other than that it has just been going smooth. I have had a crazy week though I went up to Anderson IN for an exchange wed then came home and unpacked, then I got a call and got sent to Richmond IN the next day. Its been crazy everybody trying to get there exchanges in I guess. Well I had a crazy dream this morning I dreamed that Kim Riddle pulled me over for running a red light, and told me "park your truck, I am taking you to your dad!!" ha ha I was like pleading, "no no!!!" ha ha It was funny. Well I am going back to Richmond today to have a P-day up there, we are going to go fishing its going to be awesome I cant wait. Well I hope you have a lot of fun with your screaming babies.
 I love you mom

A successful week in the field

Hey Mommy,
I am doing awesome, we have been having success. We have a baptism set up for the 28th of this month, for a girl named Jordan. She is 15 and pregnant not by her choice though, and because of that situation she moved out here with her aunt who is a member. We started teaching her, and she is so excited to get baptized it is sooo cool. She gave up all her habits in a week, and hasn't even thought about them since. it has been a really great experience, and she is really committed and going to go through so, expect a lot of picture that week!!!! ha ha
Then the guy that we were suppose to baptize, that was found drunk in the ally.... yeah so everyone we talked to said to keep on him, and push him to keep going. my comp and I didn't feel it was right. Well so he got to think about everything that happened, and on the day he was suppose to get baptized all the old lady's in the ward that he told called him up, and wanted to know what time it was. He had to tell them it wasn't, :( so i think that really hit him hard. Then the other day we went over to just see how he was doing, and he asked "so do I have to start all over?" and we said no but, you do have to stay clean for two weeks. Then on Sunday the bishop wants to make sure he is really committed this time, and told us that he needed to stay clean for a month, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. ha ha
Then we are teaching a lady named Sunshine that has been doing very well, she has a little girl about Jacy's age and, a 3 year old boy that is autistic. He cant talk he just makes sounds but, we have taught her pretty much everything. I think she is scared to come to church because she has a pennicostal background, so she has bailed on us the last two weeks. Hopefully next week she'll come!!! well that's about it, I'm glad you had so much fun, and yes we had ribs, and that is the family that Jordan moved into. (The one that is getting baptized on the 28th!!!!) We love them they're the best. Yes I got your package, it was awesome I defiantly loved reading everyone's testimonies. I even teared up a little when i read dads and Kyle's, I guess cuz I don't here them often.

Did you get the 2 boxes that i sent home ??? Oh yeah, I got to be a witness at a wedding this week to. I got to sign there mirage certificate, ha it was awesome. Now they're going to have my name framed on the wall, its gonna be awesome!!!!! ha ha
 I love you mommy

Meeting new people

Elder Cox and McDaid with the sisters

Looking good Elder
Someone must of found some mnt dew :) silly kid

hello mom, i love you so much!
Well i know dad will share his email with you so I will tell you a different story.
We were all done with meeting our goals Saturday night, so we were just kinda walking around trying to just kill the goals. So we were trying to find someone new and we weren't having any success. Everyone was out having bonfires, getting drunk and no one wanted to talk to us. As we were walking past another bonfire we just were not gonna even try, so we continued walking. Well, i guess the lord had other plans cuz the guy goes, "Come on over here." and we were just like great now we're gonna get cussed out by some drunk guy. To our surprise he goes, "Hey we love you guys. We used to bring you guys in for hot chocolate when it was cold out. The conversations started to roll and we ended up teaching about the atonement and how we can apply it in our lives and they just loved it. Well, towards the end they gave us their phone number and address and told us that they would have us over for dinner some time and that we could talk to their 15 year old son. He had a lot of religious questions that he wanted a different perspective on so we will see how that goes, but before we left they pulled out the Smirnoff vodka and toasted to us and they all took a shot. ha ha One guy reminded me and looked just like the drunk guy from Otter Creek. ha ha
I love you so much

Hi Dad,
well shoot dang, it sounds like your having lots of fun over there. If I didn't tell you  I got to speak in church again a few weeks ago on obedience. I think it was one of the best talks I have given. I got to say the closing prayer this week, and I get to set up the sacrament and bless it every week. I never thought I would miss it but after not doing it for about 6 months I really did, I always just took advantage of doing it back home but I really love the opportunity that I have to do it now. My last comp always complained about how it wasn't his job, and now I know how you and mom felt when I complained and threw a fit about doing it.  Right now we are teaching a girl named Jordan Burgess and she is doing so well, and is so excited to just be a part of this church that she had two lesson in one day the other day. We taught he 2 other times this week, and are going to go over and teach her again tonight and have a family home evening with them. So soon enough she should be getting baptized too. She is originally from Organ, but got pregnant about 5 months ago out there. So her aunt took custody of her out here and started bring her to church, and she just loves it its great.
We are very hopeful and we hope that it will all work out. ha ha Love ya

Hey Kasey,
Its just killing me how big they are getting, I miss you all a ton but here is a funny story. Finding the good in a hard time.

Kimber,
Sounds like your haven a lot of fun !!!! I know you like cool stories so here we go, the other day we walked into the library and a kid that's 19 was sitting on the bench. He looks up at us and goes are you guys Mormons, and we said yes. He started asking questions and they weren't like dumb normal questions, they were like really inspired. He wanted to know and so we talked for about an hour and a half, he said "man I know god let our paths cross so I could talk to you" and he said "if they cross again then I will know that god is trying to tell me that you guys are from him." It was the coolest experience ever!!!! Then the funny thing the library director came over and was like, "hey, please do that somewhere else." cuz it was like the old time movies. We just had like 5 people from in the library gather around us and ask questions it was awesome.
Love Elder Cox

Kasey,

This was from last week to my mom to keep it in order.

mom,
Yes I am doing much better this week, and I am getting a new companion tomorrow. I get to go back to my old area for transfers too, so its gonna be crazy. ha ha We had a great week, and had a excommunicated members get re baptized. We've been working with him, and had a lady come up to us and say "I wanna get baptized." I guess she lives with some members so that will be good!!
 Love you

Dear Mom,
My comp is from Price Utah, he is pretty cool. It was hard to leave Elder Laudie, but at the same time I wanted a change. The only bad part is that my new comp is just as lazy as I am, and so its hard to motivate myself to do a lot. Plus we had a guy named Greg that was suppose to get baptized this coming Saturday, and our high priest group leader stopped by this morning and informed us he found him in the ally drinking and smoking. So its not going to happen, and we have been working like crazy to try to get him to stay clean. He has a history of this, and has been investigating the church for like 4 years, but can't get a hold on his alcohol addiction. The bad part is that he just got out of an 8 month rehab. Its just making it really hard to wanna go out, and do anything when it seems like nothing you do is making a difference. I haven't been homesick so far but, its starting to kind of hit me with everything else going on. Other than that I'm doing well, I'm glad you guys got to go visit and stuff. I can't believe your getting rid of your garden and ripping out the curb that I worked so hard to put in, ha ha just kidding. but I love you mom so much !!  Love, Elder Cox

Elder Cox  out doing service for anyone who needs help...

Look at that swing, dad and Kyle will be ready for the pro to help them out ;)

it's easy to say we don't have time with our busy lives to serve others, but like in Elder Cox's letters sometimes service is as easy as taking time to hear others, and answering questions. Other times it's having fun in the yard or house doing chores or helping one another pick up toy's or pull weed's. when I was younger I disliked some of these things but they have become some of the best memories. Any Cox child could tell you of the endless summer days out in the afternoon sun picking rocks, we hated it. but we were giving service to our parents, children don't often know what a big help a small thing really is. Now we have the best stories of hanging out with our siblings and all the trouble we got into well serving.
I also find that in serving others we only build and learn new talents, we can in turn share with others. I am so grateful for the church and that we can go and learn to be more Christ like so that we can return to live with him and our eternal family's again.

don't forget if you want to write Elder Cox his updated address is in the WRITE ME tab at the top. also if you have a awesome letter from him you want to share you can email it to me and ill post it right here!!:) kristincox5@hotmail.com
