Doing service for the Lord!

Well, I am doing awesome.  It just so happens I am going to that lake later today. haha So hopefully I can have some pictures next week. Don’t check my bank account I just bought a pole and some lures and a license. I have seen a few does and a Jake, but not a lot yet.  Bro Welhalter sent me a picture of that OA pouch . Well, Heath will be  flipping out on me,  I have the scripture case in a box.  I don’t want to ruin it hauling it all over.  At some point soon I am going to send a couple of boxes home.  I just got to do it! Well, my comp is great.  I probably get along with him the most so far, he has been out 8 months and he is from American Fork. We teach a ton and do a ton of service both. We taught 40 lessons last week and I took out a fence and broke out a drive way. I cut a lot of grass, on the plus side everyone has a riding lawn mower. Funny story, I was braking off a post of the fence that a tree had grown around with a 8 pound sledge hammer and I swung and gave it everything I had. It hit the side and broke a piece off and then it kept going and I hit my comp in the jaw and knocked him off his feet. He was dazed for a while, but then he was fine eating hard candy. haha His chin swelled up like a baseball and then turned purple, but is almost back to normal now. haha We used Bro York’s phone,  I texted the pictures.  We got that address from Salt Lake saying a new member moved in.  Well, we found the mail box with the address and that was the house, so apparently some new members live there. haha  I love you and stay off your feet says mom haha Love ya dad

later today..
caught about 6 fish, it was a great trip. we went up to white water state park, end of it it was pretty nice. the boy is a recent convert we took with us to fellow ship him a litte more.

Connersville Indiana

Surprise there was more transfer pictures from last week put up today, so a new picture of Elder Cox!!

I think keep you in supence is funner then buying something for you to see where I am. ha ha  I'm in Connersville Indiana, it's the poorest county in Indiana.  I now know the real meaning of redneck ha. Well my new comps name is Elder Laudie, he is a great guy from American fork. I am in a ward that should be a branch, it has 40 people at church on a good day. I have met so many amazing people it has been great! There's a family that lives in a place called Brownsville, it is like orderville for us. The family there is awesome, the dad just got baptized about four months ago.  He is a farmer and they have cows, goats, chickens, horses and lots of land. So we got out there and I got to be right at home, milking the cow and feed the chickens. I  fixed his riding lawn mower, and then they fed us pork chops and potato's. ahhhh man was that good!!!!  I am doing great, and just starting to learn the area. We only have a car every other week here, so I walk or ride about 15 miles a day. I'll be skinny in no time ha ha
I love you all Elder Cox

A little about Connersville Indiana

Connersville is named for settler John Conner, older brother of William Conner, an early Indiana settler and politician

Connersville is a city in Fayette County, east central Indiana, United States, 66 miles east by southeast of Indianapolis. The population was 13,481 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of and the largest and only incorporated town in Fayette County.[6] It is home to the county's one and only high school.

The economic base is mostly manufacturing, followed by retail and health care. Little remains of the old industrial base. There are fewer than 600 union employees in the town. The closure of the Visteon plant in 2007, resulting in loss of over 900 jobs was a chief contributing factor in the town reaching the brink of bankruptcy in Mar. 2014. The largest employers are Stant, Walmart, and GE Energy (formerly Roots/Dresser), followed by various retail establishments and schools.
Wendy's made the list, that's awesome !! lol

they also have there own "top spot" or "brads food hut"

Kunkels Drive In

"this tenderloin sandwich look like quite a lot! It’s not so big as to be overwhelming, but big enough to be satisfying. It’s pounded out thin, but not TOO thin. "

they lady goes on to say that it was some of the best food she's had out there.

we think he's going to love his new area, and are so thankful the lord is watching out for him, thank you all for your prayers and any letters you've sent his way.

Trying something new

well this morning I got the news that I am getting transferred, I wont know were until tomorrow at the big meeting. I am soooo nervous ha ha, I get a new area and a new comp, ahhhhhh hopefully I do well. I had the opportunity to talk in church this Sunday about having faith in Christ, it was defiantly the best and longest talk I have ever given, I made it a whole 25 min!!! ha ha I actually took more time than I needed, but faith is such an awesome subject. not only is it a belief, but it is acting and when we act off that belief it leads us to change, and to repent and become more like Christ. I know that I have seen this in myself over the past 4 and 1/2 months. I know that my savor lives, and he is here for all of us no matter who we are, or who we were he is here!!!!!!

well you "heard" him... he's on the move. we won't know his New address to write him till next Monday. if you could, please keep him in your prayers!!! :)

Listening to the Prophet

hey mom !!!!!
teaching is going great, we hit the leadership standers again woooo hoooo!!! This week I got told I was a cereal killer by a guy in a sike unite in a nursing home. He told me he heard me say "I kill people" then I said oh really, I don't remember that, he looked at me like he was gonna strangle me. Then said yep, and I'm gonna be a cop one day and put away bad people like you. It was soooo funny, now every time we go in there he goes there is the Mormon killer, with all his wife's. Well the boy we were going to baptize started hiding from us, then when we ran him down one time he goes "I didn't wanna tell you this, but I don't have enough time to meet with you till the summer, but when summer hits I will get baptized." freaking agency makes me mad sometimes.  Conference was amazing they really hit on family's and so I just wanna take a sec and tell you all how grateful I am to have you, I love you so much and it means the world to me how much you support me, thank you so much I am so grateful to be a part of such a great family! I got one Easter package with candy and a coloring book that was great, I have almost colored half of it! Well I am suppose to tell you thanks from the housing coordinator, I have the cleanest elders apartment in the mission!!! ha ha I know you can"t believe it ha ha, our investigator Julie is gonna write you a letter. I guess about how great I am, and that she doesn't wanna return me ha ha.
love you all so much,
love Kurtie

he got some play dough for Easter and this was his creation. :)

I just wanted to add some good summaries of a few.. if you missed some or all of it, it 's online to read, watch and listen to so check it out Here

Choose to Believe

Elder L. Whitney Clayton
Of the Presidency of the Seventy
The decision to believe is the most important choice we ever make. It shapes all of our other decisions. …
Belief and testimony and faith are not passive principles. They do not just happen to us. Belief is something we choose—we hope for it, we work for it, and we sacrifice for it. We will not accidentally come to believe in the Savior and His gospel any more than we will accidentally pray or pay tithing. We actively choose to believe, just like we choose to keep other commandments. …
We likewise must give place for the hope that we will find spiritual light by embracing belief rather than choosing to doubt. Our actions are the evidence of our belief and become the substance of our faith. We are choosing to believe when we pray and when we read the scriptures. We are choosing to believe when we fast, when we keep the Sabbath day holy, and when we worship in the temple. We are choosing to believe when we are baptized and when we partake of the sacrament. We are choosing to believe when we repent and seek divine forgiveness and healing love.

Returning to Faith

Rosemary M. Wixom
Primary General President
This year Primary children are sharing the joy and the brightness of their faith in Jesus Christ when they sing the song “I Know That My Savior Loves Me.” They sing the truth: “I know He lives! ... My heart I give to Him.” Like Primary children, every one of us can strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ on our individual journey and find joy. …
… Answers to our sincere questions come when we earnestly seek and when we live the commandments. … Our faith can reach beyond the limits of current reason. …
As President Dieter F. Uchtdorf said: “We are all pilgrims seeking God’s light as we journey on the path of discipleship. We do not condemn others for the amount of light they may or may not have; rather, we nourish and encourage all light until it grows clear, bright, and true” (“Receiving a Testimony of Light and Truth,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2014, 22).
When the Primary children sing “A Child’s Prayer,” they ask: “Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child’s prayer?” (Children’s Songbook, 12–13).
We too may wonder, “Is Heavenly Father really there?” only to rejoice—as my friend did—when the answers come in quiet, simple assurances. I testify those simple assurances come as His will becomes ours.

Seeking the Lord

Elder José A. Teixeira
Of the Seventy
The more we understand the extraordinary role of Christ in our lives, the more conscious we become of our purpose here in mortality, which is to have joy. That joy, however, does not preclude us from experiencing trials and difficulties, even some so great and complex that they may lead us to think that happiness is not possible in such circumstances. …
I believe that as we deepen our understanding of the Savior, we will have an increased desire to live joyfully and a conviction that joy is possible. Consequently, we will have a greater ability to go about each day with more enthusiasm for life and for keeping the commandments of God, even in challenging circumstances. …
Every day, we should consider including frequent interactions with the teachings of Christ. …
The choices and priorities we make with our time online are decisive. They can determine our spiritual progress and maturity in the gospel and our desire to contribute to a better world and to live a more productive life.
For these reasons, I would like to mention three simple habits that will establish healthy online activity. …
Habit number 1: Visit the Church’s official website for resources. …
Habit number 2: Subscribe to the Church’s official social networks. …
Habit number 3: Make time to set aside your mobile devices.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Because He Lives

Jesus Christ lived. He walked the Holy Land, working miracles and teaching truth. Then He was crucified. But His death was not the end. Because of His Resurrection, we will live again. Because of His sacrifice, we can rise above sin to experience true joy. Because He lives, we can find His help and healing every day of our lives.

Because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, all of us can experience true joy. You’re invited to share His message with the world.  #becausehelives
